How often do I need to have my eyes checked after eye surgery?

The opthalmologist who performs the cataract removal will check patients eyes before they leave the eye clinic. After surgery, a further check will be made a week after the cataract operation. If there are no complications, a further eye exmaination is necessary four weeks post-surgery and again three to six months later.

Following cataract surgery, annual eye examinations are recommended.
