Can cataracts be removed with laser?
Cataract extraction surgery cannot be performed using laser. Cataract surgery involves the removal of the natural lens which requires an incision being made in the eye that cannot be made with laser.
If the capsule that secures the IOL in place after cataract surgery becomes cloudy due to posterior capsule opacification, laser can be used to restore blurred vision but this is not cataract surgery.
